My Word: One Bay Area football stadium makes sense By Rebecca Kaplan →
Our Bay Area’s two football teams each want a new, better quality stadium. The Oakland Raiders or the San Francisco 49ers would struggle financially to do this on its own, and economically it would be hard to support the cost of a large new facility with only one team’s games as a revenue source.
But, if we work together, our region can become the home of the world’s best stadium, built to also be able to host World Cup soccer and other premiere events, and become a resource that attracts revenue to our region’s economy.
